COVID Update

There were five new positive student cases during the week of May 17. On Friday, May 21 Chancellor Gaber sent out an announcement regarding the COVID-19 protocols that will take place in the fall. 

Monday, May 17: Student and employee cases remained at zero. 

 

Tuesday, May 18: Student and employee cases remained at zero. 

Wednesday, May 19: Student cases increased to two, while employee cases increased to one. 

Thursday, May 20: Student cases remained at two, while employee cases decreased to zero. 

Friday, May 21: Chancellor Gaber released an announcement regarding the COVID-19 protocols for the fall semester. The announcement stated that starting Monday, May 24, face coverings will be required in classrooms, lab settings, other instructional spaces, the Student Health Center and on Niner Transit regardless of vaccination status. Student and employee cases decreased to zero. 

Saturday, May 22: Student cases increased to one, while employee cases decreased to zero.

Sunday, May 23: Student and employee cases decreased to zero. 

 

In total, there have been 54,728 tests administered on campus, resulting in a 1.7% positivity rate, which is very low compared to recent rates. The total number of confirmed positive cases since July 1 is 2,407, with 107 of them being employee cases and 2,300 student cases.
