Game 1: Charlotte 10, NC A&T 0
In the 49ers’ first game of the First Pitch Classic, Charlotte got out to a slow start as the NC A&T Aggies’ outfielders put out the 49ers’ first three batters. However, Charlotte’s offense erupted in the second inning for nine runs. Sophomore catcher Bailey Vannoy instigated the 49ers’ scoring spree by hitting a home run with the bases loaded, putting Charlotte up 6-0. Madelyn Wright, Spenser Gray and Riley Krueger each tallied one additional run after Vannoy’s home run to extend the 49ers’ lead to 9-0.
Both teams had quiet performances in the third inning. In the fourth, sophomore outfielder Maddie Marchiando earned the decisive 10th run to clinch the 49ers' 10-0 victory over the Aggies.
Pitchers Wright and Alison Green each contributed two strikeouts while Reagan More tallied one. All three pitchers allowed a combined four hits.
Game 2: Charlotte 2, Rhode Island 7
Charlotte played competitively early in their game against the Rams, trailing 3-2 after two innings. However, after giving up three runs in the top of the third, Charlotte’s offense wasn’t able to dig themselves out of their 6-2 deficit. Despite Rhode Island pitcher Sarah Gunderson giving up several hits late in the game, the Rams’ outfield stepped up and kept the 49ers from scoring any runs.
Game 3: Charlotte 10, Morehead State 5
Morehead State claimed an early 5-0 lead during the top of the first inning behind quality batting from Adeline Nicholson and Lindsay Anderson. Charlotte prohibited Morehead State from garnering any runs after their prolific first inning performance. Meanwhile, Wright and Cannon contributed three and two more RBI’s, respectively, to help the 49ers claim a 10-5 win against Morehead State.

Pace pitched three innings in the rematch and gave up one hit while recording five strikeouts. Hughes pitched four innings and allowed four hits, three runs and tallied three strikeouts.
