The Charlotte 49ers begin conference play at home against UAB. The Niners will try to bounce back after a hard fought defeat against East Carolina. Charlotte Head Coach Ron Sanchez hopes that the non-conference schedule that the team has faced has prepared them for conference play.
Players to watch
Milos Supica, Charlotte: Supica has been a great asset to the team in terms of rebounding. He is currently second in rebounding on the team in rebounding with 58 total rebounds. He only trails Jahmir Young who has 62. Supica’s rebounding skills will be a key part of Charlotte's success in this game.
Tyreek Scott-Grayson, UAB: Grayson has a unique ability of being able to distribute the ball and grab rebounds. He currently leads the team with 30 assists and is fourth on the team in rebounds with 58. Grayson also has the ability to score as well which can make him a dangerous threat to the Niners.
Key to the game
Coach Sanchez has said that UAB is a team that is good at offensive rebounding. Their numbers back this statement up, as they are ranked 80th in the country for offensive rebounds per game with 11.77. Charlotte will need to be able to box out and grab defensive rebounds in order to win this game.
